Fifteenth Training
Date: 22nd June 2018, Friday
Time: 10:30 – 15:00
Route: Yat Tung - Pak Mong
Distance: 30 km
We had a new member, Billy, to join us in this challenge. This brought a new energy to the Team. Every one welcomed him and gave him a bits of their own advice as they talked with him. All of us took our initiative to talk with him and made him feel as a part of the team whether he join late or not.
To start off our training session, our team captain asked each and every team mate to say out a rule, cycling tip or a safety protocol so that all the team mates will consciously remember the rules and the team mates that were not in a previous training session will know what is happening and will not be left out.
During the training we took turns being the front and back of pack like previous training session on 19/6. We also did a lot of uphill climb and downhill ride. We practiced pacing ourselves and keeping distance with each other when climbing uphill and riding downhill.
Moreover, the route we chose for training was wet because of the rain. Due to this, some of the team mates experienced minor crash because of tire skidding. The mishap itself presented us with an opportunity to learn a new skill, which is to braking while prevent skidding.
Overall, great training session even though there was minor accident as we improve our communication among team mates and we were able to help new team mate during training.
