Fifth Training
Date: 22nd April 2018, Sunday
Time: 10:00 - 14:30
Venue: Wilson Trail (Twin Mountains)
For a difference, we trained ourselves by hiking instead of cycling. We began our hike from Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park and ended at Stanley. This was a very tough hike that was physically challenging due to the excessive climbing required. There were two mountains we had to overcome and hike through.
Many parts of the hike required extreme care and attention as the route was unsteady. The weather was quite hot, making the hike ever so challenging.
During this hike, we practiced our communication to and fro in a chain. As we hiked in a single file, we noticed some difficulties in passing messages as the message would not be clearly passed or would get lost in between. However, communication is what we always aim to improve through each training and we would work on improving this in the next training.
Due to the tough hike, some members felt exhausted but first aid and necessary medications were prepared to help each one of us. Furthermore, we all provided each other with support, which kept us all going throughout this tough training. This training was very different from the others, and though it was very challenging, with a beautiful view, it was a training that was well required to train our muscles!
